Chief Executive Officer – Tony Tenaglia
Tony is a highly skilled professional with over 30 years’ experience in leadership, strategic management, risk management, project management, fraud investigation, human resources and insurance/business/financial services. Tony is a versatile and adaptable executive with extensive experience and qualifications, who has successfully led small and large teams within the public, private and tertiary education sectors.
Currently, Tony is part of an executive team transforming IAG Australia’s Long Tail Claims Division. Tony led the development of a business plan that set the strategic and operational direction for this transformation program.
Tony has previously held the position of General Manager of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society, where he directed the operations of ANZICS’s various programs including membership services, clinical triials research, ICU registry and benchmarking services, as well as educational and support services. As part of this role, Tony was the CEO of the Intensive Care Foundation and re-developed its fundraising strategy.
Tony’s previous experience include:
–Director of Operations for the Institute for Safety, Compensation and Recovery Research, an innovative, multi-million-dollar collaborative research partnership between WorkSafe Victoria, the Transport Accident Commission and Monash University. Tony supported ISCRR’s research programs & strategy through leading and coordinating all internal ISCRR operations and providing high level, authoritative and strategic advice, expertise and guidance to ISCRR’s CEO.
–Manager, Client Relationships for the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority, responsible for delivering risk management and insurance services to all the major Victorian State Government Departments. Tony’s team dealt with the unfortunate bushfire events that occurred during his tenure.
–Numerous senior roles throughout a 20-year tenure at the Transport Accident Commission including Senior Manager, Corporate Services within TAC’s Finance Division
Tony has strong ethics, strategic, leadership, influencing, financial, risk, insurance, investigative and project management capabilities and is a former director of the Personal Injury Education Foundation (PIEF). Tony has a Bachelor of Arts (Legal Studies), MBA (Deakin University), Post Graduate Diploma of Business (Risk & Insurance). He is also a Fellow of the ANZIIF and graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors’Course (GAICD).
